Floral Candle Decor
During the dark days of winter I love the glow and warmth of candlelight, but I also crave the color and softness flowers bring to room. Solution? I combined them both to create a simple and unique floral centerpiece.
I normally put the decor on the outside of the hurricane, like when I made my apple ring for fall, but I thought it would be a nice change to add something to the inside this time.
I started with a plain glass hurricane candle holder. They are usually pretty easy to find at yard sales and thrift stores for next to nothing.
Next, I place an electric candle with a timer inside. I only use faux candles in my decor now. They're safe and go on and off all by themselves. Love that.
Once that was done, it was flower time! I removed a few tulip heads from the dollar store bunches I had on hand and tucked them into the bottom of my hurricane.
The dollar store has a great selection of flowers, from roses to daisies. I craft with them often.
I totally deconstructed a few tulip buds and placed individual petals in the hurricane. I also peppered some green leaves about for a pop of color. It's a ridiculously easy craft that needs almost no explanation and costs next to nothing, but adds warmth and charm to any room.
