Permanently Paint Glass Dishes

Paint dollar store glass dishes that are dishwasher and food safe with this easy technique. Mackenzie Childs is one of my favorite brands and style influencers. Just take a look at the latest collections for some major inspiration. These plates are food safe since all of the painting is done on the underside of the glass.
Watch how I made them here! Check out the dishes playlist on my YouTube channel for tons more permanently painted ideas! Just copy and paste this link: http://bit.ly/2dvzhaI
I used Americana Gloss Enamels which are permanent when cured and baked. They are also top rack dishwasher safe.

In your video you wrote place in the oven 350 for 30 minutes, let cool and repeat. Repeat what? The whole paint job again or putting it in the over for another 30 minutes?

Repeat the curing process in the oven.

Allow painted item to dry for 24 hours to be sure all layers of paint have dried.

Place project in a cool oven, as the glass must heat gradually with the oven to avoid breakage; do not place glass in a hot oven.

      Set oven temperature to 350ºF.

Once temperature has reached 350ºF, allow the project to bake for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, turn the oven off and let glass cool down completely before removing from the oven.

Cured surface can be washed 72 hours after baking. While painted surfaces can be safely cleaned in dishwasher, washing by hand in warm soapy water is the best way to extend the life of your project. Not safe for use in microwave.
