Hi Friends, How are you today? I hope well. I made these fun Patriotic Red White & Blue Flag banners today for a fun Memorial Day and will be great for 4th of July too.
Flag banners add so much charm and color to any area outdoor or in.
I knew I had a bunch of scrap fabric in my fabric stash and so I told my girlfriend I’d whip up some banners that we can hang around, from chairs, fences, tables etc.
I love LOVE LoVe flag banners because they are so festive and add a lot of color and fun to any area and are great for parties and birthdays too.
Here’s how it all started. I had these fabrics in my stash and the patchwork was a skirt too.
I just cut out a triangle and then cut out lots of triangles in each color.
Here are my piles of triangles. I love to use pinking shears so the edges are more finished and don’t ravel.
Then I cut the selvage edge off the flag fabric to use as the ribbon ties.
I pinned my triangles on like this and I found one piece of red bias tape so I used that too.
Then I sewed the triangles on and just took my time but it went pretty quickly. Then I folded it over and zig zag stitched it so it looked more finished.
Banners are so fun and easy to make and look how festive! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day, Lisa
