How to clean microwave with vinegar?
Does anyone know how to clean a microwave with vinegar? I love using vinegar in place of harsh cleaning materials whenever I can, especially in places that come in contact with food, like the microwave. I use the micro almost every day, so mine can get pretty nasty (especially when I heat up soups and other "high-splash" items. I'd love to know if you have any special tricks regarding how to clean your microwave with vinegar.

Microwave Cleaning Hack Using Vinegar
How to Clean and Disinfect the Microwave With Just Vinegar and Water
I fill a coffee cup with water and add a teaspoon of vanilla extract. I microwave it for a few minutes and remove it. Spray the microwave with diluted vinegar water (1:1 with water) and wipe clean.
I would dampen a cloth wit vinegar and wipe the inside clean .you can also buy covers to put on food to cut down on cleaning .
You really need to buy a microwave dish cover. Stops the splashing and need for clean up. They cost under $5 and I only on occasion have to wipe off the turn table. You can clean it now with 50 50 vinegar and water. Put in spray bottle and spray it on. Another trick is put a half filled bowl of water in microwave uncovered to a boil about 2 or 3 minutes. Leave door closed for about 5 min., the steam will loosen up the debris. Wipe out.
Well . . . I do it the most uncomplicated way possible. No measuring, no fussing, nothing. Place a cup of water (or vinegar) in the microwave. Cook till it boils. Leave door closed for 5 to 10 minutes. The walls will sweat and loosen all the gunk. Wipe out with vinegar, rinse, dry, done in 15 minutes or less. Get a splatter screen or cover plate or bowl with paper towel or napkin to keep splattering to a minimum. If you wipe up immediately, you won't have a mess. Train your people. At work I have microwave sheets - 1,000 in a box. Sold at any restaurant supply or warehouse type store.
Hi Karen, I just put a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid in a bowl filled with water, give it a quick stir and then pop it into the microwave on high for a1 minute. Carefully remove the bowl (it's hot) and use a sponge to wipe the inside. It works like a charm. You can also add a teaspoon or two of lemon juice or vinegar to the mix
I put some on a warm, wet rag and the I wipe the interior clean. If it's baked on ick, I use straight vinegar and scrub a bit.
Take the microwave safe bowl or jug and add 500ml of water, followed by 2 tablespoons of white vinegar. Place the bowl or jug into the microwave. Then microwave on full power for 5 minutes, you will notice the liquid beginning to boil. Once the 5 minutes is up, leave the microwave door closed for around 3 minutes.

I use just plain water in a microwave safe cup, bring it to a boil and let it set, do not open the door for 30 min. Remove the cup and wipe it down. Repeat as often as needed. The turntable glass can go to the sink and get cleaned like a regular dish.
The food does need a cover to keep the splashing down, my husband is guilty of making this mess and leaving it for someone else to deal with. That was until he got the opportunity to clean it up or the microwave was going away.
To contain spills from soup, etc, anything that will boil up and splash, you can use something like a paper towel, a round coffee filter folded into 1/4's and then opened up so it will cover the food in a tent style. Also, parchment paper works well, you can buy them from the dollar store, they come folded up just like a box of kleenex-pull 1 out at a time, they are also reusable depending on what you are heating.
Hi Karen, hope this helps. You can put 1/2 cup of vinegar and 1/2 cup of water in a bowl, microwave on high 3 - 4 minutes, let it sit for 5 minutes to steam the cooked on food soft, carefully remove the bowl and wipe the interior clean, repeat as necessary.
Start by putting a bowl of water with some lemon juice in it and get it hot. This will help loosen the food particles in the oven and they can be wiped away.

You can but really all you need is a bowl of water, run the microwave until it boils, let it sit, then just wipe everything up.
Hi Karen, hope this helps you Just pull out a microwave safe bowl, fill it with a 1/2 cup vinegar and 1 cup of water, microwave on high for 2 minutes to make it steamy, leave it sit in the mic for about 15 minutes, then pull out the bowl and use a microfiber cloth and warm water to wash it down. Repeat as necessary for really dirty ones.☺️
