Old Book Christmas Tree
Anyone who's ever watched Fixer Upper or is familiar with Joanna Gaines' style knows how much of an impact a set of worn-out books can have. By simply mixing a bunch of different sizes and colours together, you can create one-of-a-kind looks that pack a punch!
Anyway, today I'm going to show you how easy it is to incorporate old books into your Christmas decor. To find out how you can use them to create an illuminated, miniature Christmas tree for your home, check out the quick and easy tutorial below.
To start, you're going to want to remove the handle from your metal bucket (if it has one). A pair of linesman pliers should do the trick!
By removing the handle, you're going to create an even surface along the upper rim, which will ensure your book tree remains nice and sturdy.
Flip the bucket upside down, and place it wherever you want to display your creation.
Next, take all of the books you've gathered and figure out the perfect way to stack them. It may take a few minutes of arranging and rearranging, but eventually, you should end up with a tree-esque shape.
As soon as you're satisfied with the order of the books, transfer them over to the bucket and restack.
Place your chosen tree-topper on the smallest book and make sure it's centred.
Grab your strand of fairy lights and begin wrapping them around the books. Start at the bottom, and work your way up.
When you reach the top, tuck the end of the strand into a book, and, with a flick of a switch, let the magic unfold!
Whether you're a lover of books or can't get enough of decorating with thrifted items, this unique Christmas tree piece is sure to be a winner this holiday season.
