How do I store a Christmas tree?
It never fits back in the original box without getting crushed.

I wrap mine up in a fitted sheet and tie it with string. Before wrapping turn it upside down so the branches collapse to make a more compact package.
Fay...We just push ours back in box and fluff next year but they do have large bags that will pull over and you can store upright it you have room.
You can buy a Christmas tree bag or I've seen people wrap them in plastic (decorations still on) and store them in the attic.
You can buy a very large plastic bin with a cover that will store your tree. These are especially made for tree storage, Push all your branches in so they take up less room. These storage boxes are quite large so a heavy duty shelf in the garage or under basement stairs is a good storage area.
Well you either return it to it box or leave it out uncrushed and put an old bedsheet or plastic over the top. I didn’t want to crush my garland last year so I hung an old shower curtain pole up in the basement on strong hooks and hung my greenery on it. Just hooked one end on the top of the pole and hung all my strips of greenery. This year will be so much easier!
We’ve carefully taken ours apart and folded our branches in as best as we could and wrapped a sheet around it, then put it in a heavy duty contractors plastic bag, the one you’d use in the yard for leaf collecting. Then, we stored it flat on a top shelf in the garage, and the next year it was easy to put back together.
I like the heavy duty Christmas tree bags instead. There's more room and they're easier to carry down from the attic.
