Repurposed Tabletop Christmas Tree Planter
One of my Thrift Shopping Hacks - No Regrets - was the inspiration for this simple and easy repurposed project.
While shopping I saw a bronze tissue box cover and a string of chunky beads that caught my eye, so I brought them home and designed this festive planter.
Here's the lovelies that I found.
Metal always catches my eye when I shop, but that brash brass just had to go - nothing a little paint can't fix right up!
And those beads were just intriguing. They're not wood, clay, or plastic. To be honest, I'm not really sure what they're made of! Regardless, they were a near perfect fit along the bottom edge of the box cover and I decided they'd make a great pairing.
First I painted them both with silver spray paint and things were already looking so much better.
Next, I stretched the beads around the base of the box and arranged them. The elastic was a perfect fit, but the beads were not. So, I slid them together on three sides and left a single bead in the center of the fourth. It would be perfect for a centerpiece.
One of my favorite repurposing hacks it to change the orientation of a piece. Instead of using the box right-side-up, I'm now using it upside down!
I dug around in my ribbon stash and found a couple of pieces I liked for the project, then tied them in bows and glued them on the single bead with hot glue.
Finally, I dropped in a faux tabletop Christmas tree I found at Michael's and added some beaded garland and ornaments.
So that $1 brass tissue box cover and $1 strand of beads is now a cute little planter for my tabletop Christmas tree.
After Christmas I can easily take out the tree, change the ribbon, and use it for a houseplant.

You are, SO talented and imaginative. The tree holder, is absolutely gorgeous!
May I ask, where did you find such beautiful bulb hooks, and that tiny garland also? They are both to die for! ☺️
