Hi there, you will to remove it all from the roots as much as possible. After that I would consider creating a border around your home that you can cover with weed fabric and perhaps stone or mulch.
It is fast growing, we cut at the roots and spray weed killer on the roots.

It will require ripping out to include all roots, which can be many feet long, and hidden 6" or more below ground level.
Wear heavy gloves with gripping power, and long sleeves/slacks. Spray with Brush Killer, protecting surrounding plants from overspray. Dig up some soil where the ivy enters the ground. You may need to wrap the vines around your hands and pull, or continue to cut more vine until all roots are gone.
Be prepared to repeat every few months, until no more new growth appears.
