I bought vinyl backslash tiled sheets and used to cover ugly baseboards and give some dimensions to my small condo , the adhesive used doesn’t hold very well . It turned out beautifully in our beach condo .

Construction adhesive if there is lots of moisture/humidity may want to use one made for outside &/or for moisture
I have used a product call stick and stay to install peel n stick tile because the glue on the tiles are good n clean smooth area but mine was old tile in an uneven area. You just need a very thin amount if this mastic and those tile will stay put. There are other mantis that are more releaseable than stick n stay but if your having a problem give this a try. Can fine them at a big box store or on line.
There are a lot of adhesives in a tube used with a caulking gun. Stop at Home Depot and look at the many different kinds. If it is to spot patch where the adhesive isn't sticking get one that is less sticky. I just used the Loctite construction adhesive and it is REALLY sticky. Remember when removing this if you use a super strong will, it will probably tear up the dry wall. So even a silicone one should work for what you are doing.
Power Grab should work, it's great. Here's a link for Amazon but you can get it at the big box stores too.

Shoe Goo used to re-glue shoe soles will stick anything back together even Styrofoam which many adhesives will destroy. It's really sticky and only a few dabs are usually necessary. You might have to use masking tape to hold what you want glued in place until it sets. Once dry it makes a dependable bond. It comes in a tube like toothpaste and can be purchased at most hardware stores.
Wow what a great idea!. I love Loctite products Actually used it to put up beadboard and it has lasted. I really love this idea. Thanks
A unique way to update baseboards - love it! Moisture or perhaps oils can cause tiles to peel. I would go to an adhesive for high moisture that is for in/outdoor use.
