This little round side table had been sitting around for a while, just waiting for the right inspiration to give it new life!!!

I began this project by lightly sanding and cleaning the surface. Once all the dirty work was done, I gave it a day to completely dry before starting any of the painting process.

I primed the table with Bondago Clear primer (wasn't exactly sure where I was going - had too many ideas still). So I decided that if I used a clear primer, I would have the option to distress back to the dark wood if I decided to go that way. The Bondago Clear is wonderful because it is a primer and will allow you to expose that base coat if you want. I only applied one layer, 100% coverage and allowed to dry.

Then it finally came to me that I was going Black and Silver!!! I painted the everything but the top in Lamp Black by General Finishes Milk Paints - apply two coats for good even coverage and allow to dry. The top was painted with Modern Masters Metallic Silver paint - I applied two coats and allow to dry.

Now the fun begins!!! I decided to apply Metallic Leopard Foil to several sections of the table. So, first I applied the Foil Adhesive to those ares by brush on one coat of the ArtistsSyVille Foil Adhesive and allowing it to tack up for about an hour. While I was waiting for the adhesive to tack up, I cut the Leopard Silver foil into small manageable pieces. This would make for easy application.

Once the adhesive was ready to go, I applied small sections of the foil over the tacky adhesive and rub/scrubbed the foil to transfer it. Best to check out this video on transferring a foil finish. When I was complete with transferring all the foil I then finished off the top with a stencil.

I choose Donatella Damask for my design - it just seemed to fit the piece!

The stencil is a single overlay and I used Black acrylic paint and started light with the application and shaded darker on the edges.
