Late winter to early spring before they leaf out for the season. In your area that may be late March or April. Contact your local Ag Extension or chat with a Master Gardener at a reputable nursery.

Prune your roses in very late winter or very early spring before the leaves begin to form on the vines. Cut them back as deeply as you like and shape them as you desire. It is better to cut a little too much off than not enough. You do not want to leave any dead branches. Hope this helps Kathy
Hi Kathy - This is a great article on rose trimming that's also loaded with a big dose of inspiration. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
