That is definitely one of the challenges of an older home. #1, declutter! Down to the basic minimum. Tension rods within the cabinets work great to utilize "air space". Small square boxes, covered in contact paper or painted and laid sideways can double storage within a cabinet.
Alcia I had the tiniest home possible many year ago.
I utilized containers, and going up. If you can’t put things on the floor due to space use shelving or things that can attach to your wall. Over the toilet use either a shelf or the units that stand over a toilet and give you space for your towels and toiletries. I also got very good at only keeping what I needed. Space bags were you can suck out the air are great for bedding or winter clothes or pillows.
In the kitchen try nesting bowls and things that can fit inside of each other. In the kitchen the small metal racks to double the space for your dishes.
Inder the bed storage bags, containers and baskets utilize every space you have.
If there are enough rooms, maybe one of them could become a walk-in closet. If you have good access to the attic, you can create storage space there. Otherwise, think about under the bed storage and shelving.
Shelving, whether floating, with brackets or bookcases. Storage cubes or ottomans. Use every nook and cranny. Under bed storage too for seldom used items or out of season clothing or shoes. Organization is key.
Walls - add shelves and use bins or baskets to hide things you don't want to be seen. Furniture like an armoire or linen cabinet, depending on what your needs are.
Have you space for a hall tree with lower hinged storage, or a coat tree inside your front door area?
Behind the door towel rods or pegs will add storage.
The Shakers installed pegboards high on walls for clothing and chairs.
Wall shelving with see through or fabric covered bins would add storage space.
Space bags will significantly reduce space taken up by out of season clothes and bedding.
You may have room beneath beds for storage bins on wheels.
Kitchen cabinets hold more when using tiered see through shelving to maximize vertical space between fixed shelves.
Attach pegs below your kitchen cabinet near to coffeemaker for additional space.
Hang utensils or cluster them in a see through glass vase.
Alternate the position of eating utensils in stacks of 8, to make more drawer space.

Use, Soda Pulls to Coat hangers to double storage, use over door hooks or shelves.
Shelves on walls above chair height, (even above door frames). Shelves or cabinet over Toilet, Hand basin or even over the bath or under it by way of sliding doors etc. Hope that helps.
