How can I hide the cord on my wall?
I put up a shelf in my living room but I don't like the L brackets and cord showing.. I do rent so everything has to be removable. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Hi Melina! Home improvement stores sell plastic cord covers that attach to the wall once you peel the backing off to expose the sticky tape. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Legrand-1-Piece-0-5-in-x-60-in-Straight-Channel-Ivory-Cord-Cover/1000282085
To prevent wall damage when you remove it, soften the adhesive by using a blow dryer while you slowly remove it from the wall.
I'm not sure how to hide the brackets but you could change them out to something smaller and decorative if they bother you. An inexpensive option are wooden shelf supports that can be painted to match your shelf. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Pine-Shelf-Bracket/3056221
how about a prettier bracket painted to match shelf like this get it at Target or any hardware store will have more choices https://express.google.com/u/0/product/18019516497909457085_11770584221316136300_10046?utm_source=google_shopping&utm_medium=tu_prop&utm_content=eid-lsjeuxoeqt>im=CPOEiJujrez1ChCYh92r0qj_gDsY0JzDBCIDVVNEKJDwt-MFML5O&utm_campaign=10046&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIur_amcax4AIVsiCtBh13MQRLEAkYAiABEgJ84_D_BwE CORD COVER self-stick to conceal cord looks neater get these anywhere also here's example https://www.amazon.com/D-Line-Raceway-1D3015W-Electrical-Paintable/dp/B077YD9DG6/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1549815037&sr=8-8&keywords=cord+cover+on+wall
For many years, my living room was painted RED. All those white cords for the picture lights, lamps etc. - well - I painted them red too! Problem solved!
Be sure that when you hang your new shelf that you use a level so you can make sure things don't fall off.
You could drill a small hole in the wall, feed the cord down the hole to the electrical outlet. Home Depot and Lowes sell grommets for the wall that can be painted the same color.
Thank you all for your help. I'm definitely looking into these.
at an office supply store you can get cord covers. tubes that have a slit on the side for the cord to lay in, and it snaps back together to a tube. one side of the tube has peel and stick adhesive. my surround sound speaker wires are running through them. the covers can be painted over.
We actually just did this for our fireplace wall where our TV and sound bar is hung. We hid the cords in a plastic cord covers. It is a super easy fix if you just want to do it quick. Here is the link to the different options at Home Depot. There are different sizes and lengths to pick the one that is best for your cord(s).
Wrap some silk ivy greenery around it like it's drooping off the shelf
Hello,
If you add a plank of timber to each side of your self immediately on each side of shelf, you would not see the cords going up to the shelf so much. You could also add shelves within the timbers too for more storage maybe!
