How do I install a tile that broke in a wall?
There is nothing behind the tile that is missing. How do I get rid of the unsightly hole in the wall and install a tile?

Do you have a picture? You must have a substrate to tile to before you can replace.
Hi Elizabeth! I'm puzzled, because what was the tile attached to? Is it part of a panel? Tile is normally installed over a solid backing. However, I have seen panels that look like tile, but, are built so that they could be installed like paneling. Take a look at this and see if it addresses your problem:

You will need to patch the hole first. Just do the patch. No need to mud. Then just glue the tile on.
