- we sand the box and the groove of the sliding plate so that it slides well despite the layers of paint and varnish that will be added

- we sand well the black inscriptions

- we paint it with homemade fuchsia chalk paint (recipe in my previous posts) we coated the wooden box avoiding filling the paint reinforcement, then the lid. When it is dry and lightly sanded, remove the dust and paint a second and a third layer of paint in the same way, then varnish with two coats.

- coat the wood plate with mod-podge and put one pattern sheet at a time by carrefully removing the air bubbles, we put the other sheets by connecting the motives. Once the mod-pofge glue under the leaves is well dry, we put a layer with a sponge or a paint brush over the paper leaves, then we composes an ornament with the magazines flowers and glue it with our mod-podge.

- Now you can drill and screw the handle and the feet. If the wooden frame looks a bit light, add metal angles to reinforce it.
