Irma,
Your door opening should be wide enough to fit most couches. You did not say which door this is (front entry of house or apartment?) or how long the couch is. There a a few tricks to getting a sofa through a door. If it is a sleep sofa, make sure you tie it off so it does not pop open. Most sofas are narrowest when you flip it on its "knees", which means the front should face the floor. Assuming you are able to approach the door with the sofa level, have the top facing the side of the doorway opposite of where the door is. Roll the couch slightly so you can ease the the arm through the door. The rest of the couch should follow.
We had the same problem with a very heavy glider couch. We had to have several men to lift it and turn it on its side. Then we took off both the storm door and inside main door and the door jamb also where the door buts up against the frame. I hope this helps, Irma.
Sometimes the legs can come off, turn and twist, stand on end, just keep experimenting, you'll get it in the room.
turn it up on side with arms down on floor, may need to remove legs(if possible) here are a few videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lYab5fw0tk some couches the arm pieces can be removed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN8lNjNbTZQ another https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6sMbtTjE-k some times couches are moved into rooms after removing the windows or up over into patio doors on balconies. Sometimes they lift over the baloney/deck in through the sliders.
