Creating a Chalkboard Feature Wall for Your Teen's Room

This is the Before Photo & it's really pretty awesome as is, don't you think? However, it was done for my then 11 yr. old daughter and she wanted a teen update. Ready to see how I transformed it, using chalkboard paint and Craigslist?
I really hated dismantling this room. I bought the bunk beds on Craigslist, painted them white from their original red shade and found the pink cushioned chair in an antique mall and painted it white & added velvet/zebra fabric cushions. But... my daughter was ready for a new stage in her room. She never used the bunk beds except for sleep-overs.
I switched out the blue feature wall for a black chalkboard wall. We both love it!! Her friends love it! Her family loves it! We primed the wall & used 4 coats of chalkboard paint. Now, her friends sign the wall or doodle when they come over. Family leaves notes and it will grow with her for the rest of her teen years.
We added some dimension to the wall with vintage metal letters affixed with poster-mounting 2-sided tape. Look for something similar at a craft store.
