How do I renew laminate table and chairs?
I bought this beautiful table at a habitat store. The top and chairs need a redo. Is this too complicated for a DIY?

The furniture is original to a beach condo. Still in good shape but top is scratched and glass definitely requires upkeep. Thanks
You can paint it, but you'll need a really good bonding primer like STIX to get paint to adhere well to it.
You can use chalk paint to paint over it. Like this https://www.hometalk.com/diy/home-office/furniture/how-to-paint-over-laminate-furniture-41881825
How to Paint Over Laminate Furniture
Yes you can paint them. Lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper to remove any shine. Prime with Kilz primer then paint. Seal with three coats of a water based polyurethane.
You can make covers for the chairs. You have some good advice on the laminate.
You can use blue or green painters tape over the inlay. Rub it down with the edge of a credit card. Then you can prime and paint.
Hi Deborah, laminate is pretty easy to paint if you prep it well before the time. Probably the most important thing is to sand it so the paint has something to grip onto and wipe it down well afterwards to get rid of any sanding dust. You can also use good deglosser and a primer like Zinsser 123, the the paint of your choice. Sponge rollers work best so there's no brush marks. For small tight corners you can use a brush. Make sure to let the paint dry completely between coats and let the piece "cure" well before adding items, otherwise they may "stick" and lift the paint when removed. Have fun, I'm sure they’ll turn out beautifully
