all poison ivy is wild. there is a spray you can purchase at any Home Depot or Lowe's or garden center. You will probably have to spray more than once if it is large. There is also a product called vegetation killer that will kill all vegetation if the poison ivy in NOWHERE near anything else you do NOT want to kill, because it does just that....kills everything it is poured or sprayed on.

Cut it at the root and spray herbicide or boiling water at the root. It will wither and die above the cut. Be careful removing because even "dead" leaves can cause a reaction.

Pour boiling water on the roots, that is the only method that has worked for me.

Hello Cesi, hope this helps you. Fill a garden sprayer with undiluted white vinegar. Spray the poison ivy leaves and crown. Avoid overspray on the surrounding soil. Repeat every few days until poison ivy dieback occurs, same goes true for the poison Oak.

Hi Cesi: Wear protective clothing and maybe even safety glasses. You can use a product called Ground Clear by Ortho. However, it will kill everything it touches, so put it in a spray bottle, or buy the spray, (the refill is cheaper, $5.97 for 24 oz vs $6.97 for a gallon Search Results for ground clear at The Home Depot) and spray the leaves, top and bottom. Put a tarp on the ground to catch any overflow. Also, and this is what I did, was to cut the plant down to about 6" from the ground, putting the cuttings into a bag. Then, I got a syringe filled with the ground clear and injected the remaining stem in several places, and the top. The plant will take the poison to the roots, killing the plant. You may have to do this a couple of times, but it works.
