How do I refurbish an old veneer kitchen table?
hello I have a kitchen table that is an older vaneer top (pressed wood)I believe.. it was my late grandparents and I just can’t bring myself to part with it. Any ideas how to go about revamping it to my color scheme without ruining it?

It's just a piece of glass on a bamboo table. I'm tired of cleaning the glass.
Paint it to coordinate with your decor. I have a few pieces like that too, I just restained or painted them. Have a piece in my garage that I am working on right now.
You can clean, lightly sand, prime, and paint. You can clean, and stain with gel stain. You can go darker but not lighter.

Just keep.using it to honor your grandparents. If it's pressed wood, it's only valuable to you. Paint it and enjoy it longer. Have fun and think of them as you breath new life into their table.
Hello. I am in the process of doing a old kitchen counter with a flour bin. The top is like old floor boards and the drawers and bins are pressed wood. Mine was covered in vaneer but I used a super tough sand paper with some metal in it and sanded the vaneer and glue off. It took a lot of wood but the grain on the pressed wood is beautiful. I am in the process of staining it and almost finishing it. If there is a hidden area you could test an area first.
You could paint it with chalk paint and keep enjoying it.
as long as veneer is intact not damaged just paint it,if you chalk paint it it needs sealed 7ways to seal it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnMTAh2c0e0
