Could you paint it a pretty grey color? I can't really tell what the wood looks like or the table here but another option to make it look more farmhouse would be to sand it down and seal the raw wood with a flat sealer unstained.
Sure, why wouldn't it - it has nice clean lines. Clean it off well and either sand and restain or paint it - painted finishes are used a lot in the "farmhouse" style.
Yes - it would work with farmhouse! Consider painting the legs and base a farmhouse colour with the top natural. :)

Oh, I'm sorry, I misunderstood the picture. Yes the table could be altered to blend into "country" but it is so nice, why not go to an antique shop and get something more rustic?
