Where I live it gets really hot in summer. Just like tomatoes, if it gets too hot, they stop setting fruit. Once the temps cool down, they wake up and start producing again.
Generally it is a lack of pollination or lack of water. Some plants you buy are sprayed and not organic and they kill the bees when they do come to the blooms, so double check where you got your starters if you did not start from seed. This has been a hot summer, so it might be the lack of water this time. Hope this helps, Lucille!
If you have mint planted nearby, the blooms will not be pollinated.
