Do you save up your old jeans for craft projects? This DIY denim Christmas advent calendar makes the most of denim pockets - it is a super easy no sew old jeans project.

The pockets are a great size perfect for notes with Christmas related activities, little wrapped gift and or chocolates.

Start by cutting out 24 or 25 denim pockets

Using a number stencil practice stenciling with a fabric paint on a scrap of denim.

Once you have nailed your technique its time to stencil the numbers 1-24/25 onto the denim pockets. For double numbers please wait for the first number to dry before stencilling the second to avoid smudging.

Using an upholstery needle thread the pockets onto garden twine.

Cut out strips of fabric approx 1/2" by 3-4", I have used fabric scraps left over from previous projects in whites and reds. Fold the strips of fabric over the twine and wrap a thread around to create a mini tassle.

Lastly hang your garlands of denim pockets up - I chose to have four garlands, the first with five pockets, the second with six pockets and the third and fourth with seven pockets.
