Hi ! Find the center of your table using a sturdy tape measure . When you have the center , tape an open market to the end of the tape measure , holding the base of the tape measure firmly in place in the center of the table , raise the end with the market straight up to the ceiling .
I am assuming you have no light fixture there now? Usually there is wiring in the center of the ceiling for adding a light fixture. Centering is not a problem, electricity is. If the fixture is in the center of the room, usually the most desirable place for a table is in the center of the room. If I had no fixture in the center of the room but desired . . . by swagging etc to hang a fixture there, I would stretch a piece of rope from one ceiling corner of the room, kitty corner to the across ceiling corner and do that with the two remaining corners. You will end up with a big X. the center of that is the center of your ceiling.
