Hi, Kathy!
To organize my office space, I like to use cork boards with decorative push pins and magnet boards mounted to the wall. I also use a makeup holder (with drawers and spaces for lipsticks) to organize pens, pencils, erasers and glue sticks. I've also mounted metal file holders to the wall to organize notebooks! I hope this helps with a few ideas!

Kathy....I like the metal filing cabinets, shelves and baskets or bins work well.

Get rid of anything that doesn't spark joy and then group like things together.
Definitely go through everything first and get rid of what you don't need. Have you used it in 2 years? 1 year? If not, then you more than likely can get rid of it, unless it's records.
I've found that any organizational is worthless if it doesn't match your personal thinking process. Observe yourself a little to first determine your habits. Do you only set down a piece of paper when you have a file folder open? Or do you pile chronologically and sort once a week? Do you work best with an in/out bin?
Take note of your habits and then design your system around that.
Get some cute baskets or cover cardboard boxes with fabric to add storage areas for your home office.
I agree with Laura, it’s going to depend on how you use the space. Clear out anything you don’t need or use then evaluate what’s left. Base your organization around that and how the room functions.
