Before wear spray with a protectant. Camp dry by kiwi is my go to. Give it a day to dry.

  • If they are leather, try Magic Eraser.

First, get rid of any dirt, mud, or gunk with a shoe brush or old toothbrush. Then, using a sponge, cloth, or brush, apply a small amount of sneaker cleaner (or gentle laundry detergent mixed with warm water) to the dirty parts. With tough stains, keep repeating until they're gone.

Spray Scotchguard for fabric. I used to spray all my kid's shoes when they were young. Keeps those expensive shoes nice & easy to clean. https://www.wikihow.com/Scotchgard-Shoes

Use white toothpaste and a damp toothbrush to clean them. Make sure it foams up. Wipe off with a damp cloth. For cloth use Scotch Guard...for leather or faux leather use neutral paste shoe polish.

I think of sneakers as being made of canvas, I would wash in washing machine. I also would do so with leather and have washed many a leather pocket book.

I throw them into the washing machine. I also use a Mr. Clean magic eraser to clean the soles. If they are not canvas I'd use the eraser on the whole shoe.
