Hi Kathi. Start by going through what you currently have on hand. Pitch anything that is outdated. You could use gravity-feed can organizers to hold soups, vegetables, and any other canned goods. Baskets work great for dry goods, like season packets, rice, and snacks like chips and crackers. I like to use large glass jars with lids to store sugars, flours, drink mixes, etc. They are easy to check to see if you need more. And, bins work well for potatoes and onions. Label everything. So that any family member knows where to look for a particular item. Good luck Kathi.

I do it by Weight because my pantry shelves are too long and will warp if I over load them.
I put the gallons of liquids on the bottom fixed shelf.
canned goods on the ends of each shelf, same with 5 lb bags of flour & sugar.
