Hi Christine,
All I do is bring 1 cup of water to a boil, keep the microwave door shut and let it set for 15 min to 1/2 hr. Open the door and wipe away the spills.
I use White vinegar and water. 1/2 cup vinegar, 1/2 cup water. Let it steam for about 5-8 minutes, I take out the glass rack after steaming, let it cool and wash it with Dawn. Wipe the walls down with either paper towels or a microfiber cloth.
PS the vinegar mixture is good to clean your dishwasher or use in the washing machine as fabric softener afterwards.
I use lemon juice and a 2 cup glass measuring cup full of water. I set the timer for 5 minutes. Shut it off when the buzzer goes of, but keep the door shut for at least 15 minutes. The water will still be hot, so carefully pull it out. Then, I pour it down the drain of my kitchen sink. While the microwave is still steamy, wipe it down with a microfiber cloth. You may need more than one. Then, I wipe it down with a dry microfiber cloth. Leave it open until it has dried completely. If you have a glass turntable in it, scrub it with soapy water and air dry. Since mine fits in my dishwasher, I run it through a regular cycle and air dry with a load of dishes. Wipe underneath/the bottom of the microwave before finishing up. It usually isn't very soiled, unless something spills. It is nice and clean after this process and smells good.
Christine....Let water with vinegar boil in the microwave. After it has cooled wipe it out with a clean towel or paper towels. The steam does the work.
Take a full glass of water microwave it for like 3 min then wash the oven out with hot soapy water the water in for 3 minutes loosens al stuck

Hello Christine! There are planty of methods to clean microwave but the one that I like the most consists of two ingredients and 3 steps. One cup of water + one cup of vinegar poured into a bowl. Put it in microwave for 5-10 minutes (it depends on power of your microwave) and then take it out and wipe your microwave inside. It is very easy and it works!
