We just had two gorgeous days in January, and it’s only feeding my need for spring to arrive! This time of year I start to get a little impatient for spring. I know, it’s a long way to go, but I tend to add little pops of pink around my house and that helps to get me through!

My loopy yarn and pom pom Valentine's Day wreath is a subtle way to add some pink! I’m a neutral loving gal at heart, so I chose to use white loopy yarn and  blush pink blanket yarn for my pom poms.

(This Valentine's Day wreath tutorial assumes that you know how to make pom poms. My video below shows most of the process, but does not discuss how to tie off the pom pom. You can always google how to do that.)

I got most of my materials at JoAnns or had them on hand. JoAnns has awesome sales and coupons, so make sure you take advantage of them! My yarn was 70% off, so I saved a bundle on the cost to make this wreath. I already had the pink yarn and ribbon from another project, so I only needed to buy the wreath base and loopy yarn.
Step 1:First, start wrapping the wreath base with the loopy yarn. You do not need to secure the end to your wreath, because once you finish wrapping the wreath, you will tie the two ends together.
Step 2: Second, begin making your pom poms. I had different sizes and colors, but ended up only using the blush pink large pom poms. I used two cardboard circles, that I cut out, as a DIY pom pom maker, but you can buy a pom pom maker if you like!
Again, this post assumes you know how to make pom poms, but below is a quick video to get your started!

Here are some of the finished poms poms!
Step 3: Third, use a hot glue gun to glue the pom poms to the yarn wreath base.
Step 4: Fourth, if you like, you can add a bow to your wreath! I already had this pink ribbon, so I placed it on my yarn and pom pom wreath for a little decorative touch.

Now you are ready to hang your wreath! I suggest hanging it indoors or on a covered porch to protect it from the elements. I used a medium sized command hook to hang my wreath.

I hope you enjoyed this easy and simple Valentine's Day wreath project! If you are interested in other Valentine's Day crafts, head to my blog and search "Valentine's Day!"
