This is what we started with. This beat up dresser was no where near great condition. Thankfully the drawers all worked, but the old finish was scratched and dinged all over.
First I removed the hardware and filled in the old holes. Then I painted it this pretty shade of green.
I grabbed some reclaimed wood, cut it to size and sanded it smooth. It was really rough before, and I wanted to create a surface that could be wiped and cleaned off. If you don't have access to reclaimed wood, you can use common board from your local hardware store!
Then I stained the wood, let it dry, and then lined it up so I could attach it. I used my brad nail gun to secure it to the old top of the dresser. Then I gave the whole dresser 3 coats of my very favorite topcoat. I added new farmhouse style cup pulls and viola!
It looks like a completely different piece of furniture now! Click here to learn more and get links to the actual products used from my blog!
