Pour some baking soda on the stain. Then pour some vinegar. Let it foam up. Then blot from outside in so not to spread the stain.
You can also use a peroxide and water solution
Hi Christopher. I'm Cindy. In a small bowl pour 2 cups of warm water and then add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and 1 tablespoon of dish washing liquid. Dip a sponge into this solution and begin applying it directly on the stain. Blot it up with a clean cloth. Continue this process until stain is gone.

Hi Bonnie,
Here's a list of what you can do with a red wine stain, I like the fight wine with wine method:

As with most stains, it's best to blot the stain to remove any wine that hasn't been absorbed yet. You can use paper towels or a clean cloth. In a small bowl, pour two cups of warm water. Mix one tablespoon of white vinegar and one tablespoon of dishwashing liquid.
I’ve done all of the above, and they didn’t work well because the wine had sat in the carpet partially cleaned up too long.
I bought food grade hydrogen peroxide at 15% strength and it finally took it out.
Caution: at that strength, it is caustic to skin & one must wear gloves.
After it is cleaned, it will need to be extracted with a wet/dry shop vac, rinsed with distilled water & extracted again.
oxiclean! It took a red wine stain out of a white sweater of mine!
Christopher....I would try Blue Magic from AutoZone...we have found it to work on so many fabrics. Good luck
Hydrogen Peroxide should remove the stain. I would test it first for color fastness of your carpet as it might lighten or bleach it.
