Can you help me decorate my living rooms?
I have 2 living rooms separated by a half wall. My wall decor is mostly orange, burgundy, moss green and golds, and I'm really struggling with what color to do for area rug, curtains, etc. My couches are ecru in one living room, and grey in the other. Black wrought iron candleholders, and most of the wall art is metal. Any suggestions for color, accent color, and how to do both rooms? Thank you, thank you!

Do you have any photos that you could share with us? That might help! It sounds like you have a lot of colors going already, so without seeing it, I'd go for something neutral or that is in a tone that matches what you already have (if possible). Is there any color that you're using more of that you'd like to be the stand-out color in each room?
Pauli's: If you want to keep that much color in your decor, I would definitely go with a neutral.
Please attach a photo. To me it sounds like you have the old european color scheme. Do you want drapes or blinds or bamboo shades? Lowes has a good selection of all of that and reasonable. I would get an area rug from Ruggable, look at those that have some of the colors you mentioned.
I would pull colors out of the decor you've described. Curtains in one color, a rug in another, or you may find some patterns with a couple of your colors in them. A good place to look is Overstock.com. You can search rugs, etc by colors.
Paulisa...You will need to find one of the colors you would like to center on and let it be your color of rug and curtains and put other items of that color out that will pull it all together. Maybe a picture of the two areas so we could get a better feel. Thanks
Yup, a picture please, are you trying to draw the 2 living rooms in together or have totally different color schemes going on? It is hard to tell from your question.

Sounds like you have a lot going on. I would not add any more colors. If anything, pull some out.

I would consider a neutral that works well with all that pattern. I would consider a color like Alabaster white by Sherwin Williams.
What is the purpose of the half wall that divides the two spaces? I would remove it and make it one room if possible. Gonna be hard to get continuity with two different color couches...... can you slipcover one or both?
Can you post pictures so we can make better suggestions?
It sounds like you have a lot of colors “going on” already.
Therefore, without pictures, I would look at the rooms as like a vase of flowers: balance the different colors of flowers by creating a composition.
I would definitely love to see pictures. And do you want the rooms to feel like separate rooms? Or so you want them to blend together? Pictures would definitely help us out!
You have a lot of warm colors happening, I would add in one warm neutral in a lighter shade to balance it all.
Here are some ideas where you can just add specific colors to that space. https://www.simplenaturedecorblog.com/7-ways-to-refresh-your-home-with-bright-and-bold-accents/
I'd go with burgundy for area rug and ecru curtains
