Bugleweed is a great ground cover that likes full sun. Lamb's Ear is another.

Hello your location and growing zone might give us more information to be able to get to to be able to give recommendations that will work in your region..
At my lakefront property I have rocky riprap along the shoreline, The rip rap or seawall it’s a nice way to contain your property and prevent erosion.
In my sunny exposure I’m progressing planting some shrubs and perennials and even hostas. Often the deer nibble on the hostas. At my location in zone seven I do like pollinators, I have daylilies coneflowers hydrangea butterfly bush likac pachysandra ground covered under the trees, forsythia, dappled willow, redtwig dogwood and miscanthus.
Boy I understand how hot the sun can get especially on our deck it is almost inhospitable. In addition with all my recent plantings and love of gardening we put a water pump submersed at the boat dock so I can easily order my plants without dragging houses around. Something to think about.
Additionally for the best local professional advice
I would highly suggest contacting your cooperative extension. These offices are manned by volunteer master gardeners on site there waiting to answer the communities questions that know your local situation quite well.
Master gardeners are required to volunteer back designated hours ( plus continuing education) each year to maintain MG certification -this community outreach and education is their goal.
What is your wind exposure like? Make sure anything you plant is wind resistant if that is an issue for you.
Our lot is on the point of an island.
Peonies love full sun!
Day lillies bloom all summer and come back every year. Plant once and you're set! https://amzn.to/3dhYbt8
Hi Karin, have you seen these perennials? They can take full sun and you can stagger them for blooming time if you like.
