Scrap Wood Guitar Bookends!
These scrap wood guitar bookends are a fun and unique way to use up your wood scraps! You can use any shape or design you want, but these guitars were a fun choice!
To get started...
Grab some scrap wood and print out a guitar shaped template. You can do a quick google search for a shape or template you like. Cut the template out and trace onto your scrap piece.
Use a jig saw to cut out the shape traced on the board.
Drill a hole in the guitar if desired and cut the neck off at an angle like shown. One piece will go on the left bookend and the other will go on the right.
Next, Glue up a pair of bookends like shown in an L shape.
Apply wood glue to the parts of the guitar that will touch the bookends and carefully set in place and allow to dry completely.
And that’s it! You can make these any shape you want so get creative! 😉 To finish, you can paint or stain as desired. Since this was made from cherry and poplar wood, I simply applied oil to seal it.
