Need some ideas on planting a garden of vegtables with no yard?
Schools are closed. I would like to have a garden project for my son but we have no yard just a very big balcony. How do I start a garden with no yard?

Hi! This is such a great article:

Questions to ask yourself:
How much square footage do you have on your large balcony and how much are you comfortable dedicating to this project?
Container gardening is obviously the way to go, but what arrangements do you feel comfortable with? Do you want big containers to one side? Skinny containers all around the railing? Do you want small pots on a potting bench/rack? Do you want window box style planters straddling/hanging outside the railing? Do you want to work with hanging baskets? Do you have access to existing containers, the funds to purchase them, or will the containers themselves be DIY?
Are you hoping to do this as a science project to explore plant biology? Is this about adding herbs and vegetables to you pandemic menu options? Or are you thinking more about pretty flowers?

Hello even though I have a yard I used a self watering patio planter to grow tomatoes. They are suited for decks balconies or other small areas.

You can get a raised garden bed kit or build one. Another idea would be hanging tomatoes and strawberries. You can grow some vegetables in pots as well.
