Redo kitchen table?
ok So my question is on how to redo a kitchen table. I saw y’all sanded then painted white. Then added stain on top then topped with polycyclic. What type of paint do we use oil or water based?

It sounds like you're asking about a specific project, Alexandria. If you are, you'll need to go to that project and ask the question. But.....If you're painting the base of the table, you can use chalk paint or latex paint. The chalk paint will have to be sealed with wax or you could use polycrylic.
Alexandria: on tis project, I used latex.

Acrylic latex paint. Do not use oil based
Hello Alexandria! Maybe this is what you are referring to!

It doesn't mention much about paint. They used a gloss paint with primer in it over the entire table and then stained the top. If you do any sanding you don't have to get down to the wood on this as long as you use a primer. I would use a stand alone primer first and then you could use a paint with or without a primer. Paint with primer already in it is just a thicker paint. You can buy a paint formulated for cabinets--it will be more durable and wear better as well as wash up nicely. Available at any big box home improvement store like Menards, etc.

You can use either but if you use oil based paint, you will have to use an oil based sealer. My favorite is to do 3 coats of polyurethane.
Hi Alexandria, water based paint is the easiest to use and you can seal it with a food safe sealer. Tung oil is a good choice although it does tend to yellow slightly over time
Either oil or water based will work. I find the water based paints much easier and less "smelly" to work with.
Hi! Sounds like you are asking about a specific project. Best to ask your question there. Personally, I use water based sealers and paint. Good luck and stay well!
Here is an article that explains the difference between oil and water based sealers:

If you use oil, you do not need a top coat and it is very durable.
You could use water base sand nice and flat you paint it what ever color you like then Polly after to maintain finish
