How do I make new wood look old?
I have new pine on my porch on a very old farmhouse and I want it to look weathered kinda like driftwood or a gray shade. Not sure how to do this? TY

I have found that a combination of stain and paint works great. make sure that you use exterior paint for outside wood. Here's an example!

Put a piece of steel wool in a glass jar with vinegar. Let it sit overnight and paint it on the wood.

I use a vinegar and steel wool solution to age wood. The steel wool needs to be the old SOS pads that actually rust. Put them in a jar for a few hours then paint it on the wood.
You can apply a water based stain on them. Varnathane makes one. I used shade of grey for my shed door that was new wood. It lets the grain show thru.
