How can I spruse up 4x4 posts in my deck
I have a covered outdoor deck and the 4x4 posts are ugly. Is there anything you can suggest I can do to spruce them up besides painting?

You can buy post sleeves but you may have to dismantle part of any railing to get them on.
2 Curtain panels to camouflage & soften the look of each post.
Linda: you can wrap with fairy lights!
Wind sisal rope around the post at intervals is one idea. Add some hanging planters or some metal artwork.
Add solar lights
or wrap them with twinkle lights
You could paint sunflowers all down vines or another flower down vi es all over them to dress them up or you could stencil Erbs like rosemary basil on them make a theme then do it on all of the posts
What about adding a more attractive wood like cedar to camouflage the posts? Good luck and stay safe!
Carefully pressure wash them. Paint or stain will be next step depending on condition. You can also attach thin wood covering to hide old posts. I had pressure treated posts that went from ground up to the railing. I used redwood or cedar to cover the PT posts.
HELLO LINDA,
Wind artificial flowers and foliage around them. Fix brackets for hanging baskets,
Hang TiKi masks, Grow climbing plants up them. Best wishes.....
How about if you wrap them with decorative vines? Personally I would paint them but wrapping them with something that wouldn't weather might be a good idea.
Try staining in a java shade. Add something decorative like initial or small decor to them or nearby as a distraction.
Wrap them with solar string lights. You can get them in different colors and styles. They also make for good night time lighting
You can purchase post covers from your local home improvement store.
