Disney's Mickey Lego Table Makeover
Good morning! I bought this child's table and chairs several years ago at a garage sale and have used it in my classroom since then. The paint was getting pretty worn, so I brought it home and gave it a little paint makeover!
The table and chairs had been previously painted with a glossy paint, so I had to do some sanding first. I used 120 sandpaper and sanded by hand. I didn't remove all the paint, just got the gloss off.
Once the pieces were sanded, I used 2-3 coats of Kilz primer. Because they had been painted in such bright colors, it took a lot of primer to cover it all.
I sanded and primered the table the same way. Once the primer was dry I painted on 2-3 coats of semi-gloss paint.
When all the paint had dried, I decided to paint Disney's Mickey Mouse head on each chair and around the table edge. I printed out the Mickey Mouse shape on my computer on cardstock paper, then cut it out. I used this as a template to stencil the shape onto the chair seats and the edge of the table. I used blue paint to fill it in.
Here are the little Mickey's I painted on the edge of the table.
I love how it turned out!
I have more ideas over on the blog if you would like to take a look! I would love to have you visit!
