Try putting on a paste made of baking soda and water - let it sit a half hour and wipe off.
Bar Keepers Friend powder and a scrunge pad work well, but may leave some scratches.
If it is copper, ketchup and salt. If aluminum, Barkeepers Friend, damp, let sit about 15 minutes then scrub with a green heavy duty scrubbie.
Soak it in a basin of water and a dryer sheet.
If it is a metal pan, a steel scrubber woth bar keepers friend works wonders. :)
I soak them in Dawn dish detergent and hot water. Polish it up with a paste cleaner like Soft scrub or make a baking soda paste and scrub with a magic eraser or microfiber cloth. Good luck and stay safe!

What sort of pan is it- what is it made out of, and how old is it?
Make a thick paste of baking soda and water, apply it to the pan and let it set. I usually let it set overnight and then using the rough side of a dollar store sponge, scrub it off. Repeat if needed.
Cerama Bryte or Bar Keeper's Friend. Works great!
I have heard that baking powder and vinegar soak does a great job.
Barkeeper's friend
SOS pad
Baking soda and hydrogen peroxide with steel wool
marble paste
oven cleaner
These are all options to achieve a clean pan.
Oven cleaner works
Everyone says baking soda and vinegar, Im shocked how poorly it works on deeply browned cookware. I have a stainless steel cuisinart (silver) roasting pan big enough for turkey, the bottom a dark brown the sides almost as brown, the inside is non stick grey so not an issue. I liberally sprinkled baking soda over it and then vinegar water mix. Left it. Then applied again. It took a tiny bit off the corners but overall did not work at all. I ended up using a no-fume oven cleaner spray. Sprayed the bottom and sides. Left it. Came back and scrubbed with a no scratch pad. Worked great. I would recommend doing it once a month or so if you use your pan a lot (We do Sunday roast chicken a lot) if you want the silver look. Part of me felt that the deep patina/brown was sort of a badge of honor, the part of me that feels that a life where a Sunday dinner is even possible with someone you love is so rare and special that a Roasting pan scored a deep brown from so many good meals could be a gem to the eye.
