Whats the best way to keep fleas and ticks off your yard
Black Flag Flea and Tick YARD Treatment.
This is safe for children and pets once the product has dried on any grassy areas and vegetation.
Fleas like moisture and shade. Keeping your grass and shrubs cut short allows sunlight to light things up and dry them out. Get rid of any clippings, leaves, and straw lying around outside, too. Bifenthrin is commonly used to kill deer ticks. Like permethrin, it’s lethal to fish, though runoff is limited because the chemical binds well to soil.

I use permethrin for ticks. You can use it to make diy tick tubes!
HI, Ron,
While some sprays are highly effective, there are also a number of plants that will naturally repel fleas and ticks. Dependent upon your location, you may wish to review them for possible inclusion into your landscape. See "Hunker.com-plants that repel ticks". Planting these may solve your problem, without having to reapply spray deterrents. As mentioned sbove, rodents and deer can bring ticks and fleas into your yard. While some of the aforementioned plants repel animals, you may need to apply Deer Away or similar for problem animals. If your neighbors feed birds, they are attracting ticks. If you have a problem with feral animals, they may also be bringing ticks and fleas into your landscape.
My understanding is that Diatomaceous earth is supposed to work on ticks though I’m not sure about fleas, check the label.
