why not pin the money on?
you can use a sealer here is info about that
https://craftknights.com/how-do-you-make-decoupage-waterproof/
Decoupage is slightly water resistant but not waterproofed, to seal your project use varnish.
Hi Sandy, you could seal with marine varnish, or cover with epoxy resin to make it waterproof.
It is not water proof and you could notice some clouding it exposed to water for long periods of time.
Outdoor modge podge is not water proof either but is more water resistent.
That just means if something sits out on a covered porch it will be fine. But not intended for prolonged exposure to water.
Lots of info on Mod Pdoge here:

Mod Podge does make a dishwasher-safe formula. That might work.
Hi Sandy, I did a project with old sheet music under resin and I sealed it first with a layer of mod podge. The MP should seal the paper money well and withstand light wiping down. https://www.recreateddesigns.com/2017/12/resin-table-top-envirotex-lite/
You can use dishwasher safe Mod Podge to hold up but regular Mod Podge won't.
Hello Betsy,
Try using Wonder Web both sides, No guarantee though! Best of luck!
They make a formula for dishwasher safe and fabric. Check local craft stores and Amazon.
You can copy the image into iron on transfer paper as the method you’re suggesting is unfortunately not going to work.
I'd test with something replaceable before using anything precious or irreplacable! Just to be sure.
