If the two walls of the opening are even, make or have made a small sliding barn door.
Here are some ideas https://www.pinterest.com/pin/564005553315908815/
I think a DIY barn door would look nice.
You could also put up a tension curtain rod and hang a pretty long curtain to hide the closet.
Hi! Maybe something like this?

I realize the two doors might not work, but, one might.
Put up a tension rod and hang a curtain.
Here's a link with some closet door alternatives to consider:

Hi Vivian. I really like the idea of using a barn door. You can purchase the necessary hardware on line or in your local home improvement store. They come with step-by-step instructions. Then you can get a door at Habitat for Humanity for a fraction of the cost of a new door. It will probably have to be cut down to fit the space. If you decide to buy a new door, they can cut the door to your measurements, usually a free service. Good luck Vivian.
Another vote for a barn door! This is ideal. :)
The picture you posted does not show how far up the closet opening goes, but the 94" measurement tells me that it likely does go all the way up to the ceiling, if the ceiling is 8 ft tall.
If the closet is open all the way to the ceiling, you will not be able to install a barn door, simply because there is no drywall on which to mount the railing.
The picture shows that a barn door railing is mounted on the front of the wall.
An accordion door may be your best option, as it may be possible to mount the top track directly on to the ceiling.
how to install acordion door on closet
Hi Vivian, perhaps concertina doors will work in that space. You could also hang a beautiful curtain to hide the opening
Hi there,
Buy a concertina door which includes a frame, or use a beaded curtain or a heavy curtain on a pole, or a screen. Otherwise, buy and fit a frame and door to suit. Failing that, call in a carpenter who is used to problems with doors! Good luck.
What about a tension rod and a curtain?
A tension rod and curtain (many designs to chose from) or you can make your own from sheets or even upholstery fabric. Inexpensive and quick ix to your problem, especially if the barn door isn't an option for you.

I would go with curtains or an accordion door. You don't want a swing out door for a small space.
Ikea sells 94" draperies in some very tasteful options. You could always attach a single tie back to one side, if you prefer.

What about a bifold door using shelving. You can get 10" width and the length in lumber that is ready to paint or stain. Couple of hinges, track across the top and hanging hardware, pretty knob and your done.
A bifold door will require some kind of framing to be build first in order to mount it. With a only 20.5" opening to start with, by the time you get the bifolds in place, it will be hard to fully access the interior space.
I'd do a curtain
I would do a curtain .. is that by the front door ?
