Paint color for a coffee bar?
Brown bottom of a hutch I want to change into a coffee bar in my renovated light grey kitchen. What color would you paint it?

You could paint it to match or you could paint it a contrasting color. I think it depends on what's around it, what your taste is, and your comfort level with color. Personally I'd highlight the difference and paint it a fun color.
I agree with Becky, its is a special unique piece a contrasting color could really make it pop.
Another vote for contrast. Black for example can be so classy! Or a bright color can be fun. :)

white or the same grey as the kitchen
Black and teal.
you could go darker gray or even light black for contrast
If you want it to blend in with your newly renovated kitchen, I would paint it light gray and make the top a contrasting color of your choice.
Maybe you could get some ideas by looking at other coffee bars.

What color are your dishes, cups and any other thing in the kitchen? Using grey will only make it blend into the wall. Go with another color you already have in the kitchen to make it contrast the grey walls.
It really is a person choice but I love blue and grey. Esp navy blue. It is a little less harsh than black but they look so pretty together. White and grey also look lovely.
Depends, I go with white
Hi Marilyn,
I would probably try to match the Grey of your kitchen cabinets. If not able to get good match, Go Darker or go for a contrast such as Turquoise, Burnt Orange, Lime Green or even Brown with Grey Handles etc.
Off white and then glaze with a black glaze. That will be a transition between the grey color, one lighter and the other darker.

Hi Marilyn,
The same colour as the rest of the kitchen!
Black is neutral and will add a "pop" without locking you into a trendy color that you might soon want to change. Black is a classic! Good luck!
