Hand Me Down Light Makeover.

I got a cute lantern style light fixture and gave it a makeover to fit my style using some leftover paint and rub-n-buff.

I got a hand me down light fixture from my sister that was the perfect size for my kitchen. The black was OK but it wouldn't really fit the style of my kitchen.

I decided to use what I had on hand to give it a makeover.

I grabbed some white paint I had on hand and gave it a few good coats. I let it dry completely between each coat.

I made sure that every side was completely covered.

When it was dry, I hung the light. I really liked the white but it still needed something.

I decided to give it some contrast with gold rub-n-buff.

I used a small paint brush and applied the gold to the center candelabra. I used a thin brush so that I could easily get into the cracks and crevices.

I really love the way it turned out! You can't beat a free light fixture!
