Where do I find plastic mesh for the floor of bird feeder?
I bought a platform bird feeder like this. I don't think plastic window screen will work as it has to be something that will allow water to go through.
Where do I buy this plastic mesh that comes in the bird feeder?
They cost too much to buy already made. I'd like to make my own.
Thank you!

Check with ace hardware. They are the best at having items like this in my experience. If you can figure out what permeable membrane to search for, there’s always amazon.

And likely at any craft store, you could also buy door screen by the roll at home improvement stores
No reason why plastic window screening won't drain water and keep in the seeds.
Ty your local hardware store, Agway, Tractor Supply, or pet supply store.
Here's a link that might help - https://www.themeshcompany.com/products/Bird-feeder-mesh.html
I agree. The plastic window screening should work.
Window screen should work! Or - do you have a TSC near you - they'll have something. :)
Hello!
If it something that you saw in a Hometalk posted project, ask your question on that precise post.
This is a general Q&A posting area, the person who's project you're asking about would likely be unaware of your question about their project post. To get an answer about a specific post, ask the question directly below the project that will likely get you a reply from the Hometalk poster.
If you ever want to go back to see a particular project, just click on the little blue house at the top of this page, left-hand corner. If you can't find a particular project, you can use the search bar. Also, please consider checking out "Explore Projects" for even more additional ideas.
Hope this helps.
Hi there,
Your Garden store, should have some with the fencing dept! Best wishes. Otherwise Make holes in the plastic.
You can buy huge rolls of plastic screening material at amazon. It lets water thru and would work fine.
Other than the screen suggestions, you could put fiber fill or fish tank filter material in there. Block the removal of this with toothpicks or mini dowels in the hole. Just brainstorming.
Hello would a needlepoint mesh work as a substitute? It might be an economical alternative.....
Lowes and Home Depot sell plastic screening. Just get the regular screen not the blackout kind. Should work great.
Can you use something like this? https://amzn.to/35Nj9hE

Yes! I was just designing my own birdhouse and wanted mesh for the drainage.
