Homemade Lavender Scented Epsom Bath Salts- A Holiday Gift Idea
Calming lavender scented bath salts make an easy, and beautiful gift for everyone on your holiday list. Self-care during these challenging times is very important and a warm, comforting bath at the end of the day with lavender scented epsom salts is the perfect way to unwind and shed the cares of the day, at least for a little while. Add a glass of wine or champagne for an added indulgence. These lavender scented Epsom salts are also an easy, economical homemade gift to give to family and friends or to make for yourself. I like to gift them in a vintage bowl with a silver-plate spoon or small wood scoop, wrap them in cellophane, tie them with a pretty ribbon and place them in a basket with all sorts of other self care items, including soap, sponges, a book, candle and a few chocolate bars. You could add some christmas cookies, a bottle of wine or champagne, the possibilities are endless. My suggestion is to add to the basket whatever you would enjoy receiving and your recipient with love it.

Directions
1. Mix the epsom salt, coarse salt and baking soda together in a bowl.
2. Add the drops of lavender essential oil to the bowl and mix again.
3. Add as many lavender sprigs and flowers as you like to the salts and mix one more time.
4. Pour bath salts into a jar. Add a bow and a tag, place in a basket with a bath sponge, a beautiful bar of soap, a candle, some matches( make your own), a book and maybe a bottle of wine or champagne. Or place the salts in a vintage bowl, wrap in cellophane wrap, tie with a bow and add a gift tag.
Note: Essential oils are very strong and some people may be allergic to them, so if you are pregnant, have a skin condition, Asthma, or are in doubt seek the advice of a doctor. And remember to keep all oils out of reach of children.
Are you making any gifts for the holidays? I think they are the best gifts to give and receive. !
Note: The cost is an estimate of what one bowl would be, you will have extra salt, extra epsom salt, and oil left to make more.
Bath salts in vintage bowl.
Add your bath salts to a vintage bowl, add a spoon and wrap in cellophane for the perfect gift.
Ingredients
Add all ingredients, the two salts, lavender buds and the essential oil to a bowl.
Mix all ingredients well.
Place in decorative container.
Once mixed place your salts in a decorative bowl, add a spoon and you are ready for your next relaxing bath. You could also place in jars, tie with a bow and give to friends and family. Cellophane bags work well too. Place the salts a candle, and some other treats into a basket for the perfect self-care gift.
NOTE: Essential Oils is not my area of expertise, I have been told that you need an emulsifier to mix with the oil, in the past I was told that epsom salt did this, if you are more familiar with EO please use an emulsifier or whatever you think is best for you.
