You can use acrylic paint. There are some made especially for glass - check the label.
You spray paint them. You can pour paint inside and swirl around then let drain. You can pour nail polish on water in an old container and dip the balls.

How To Make Mercury Glass Ornaments On A Dime!
I have always used acrylic paint in Christmas colors. Poured a bit into the glass ornament and swished it around and then let the excess drip out. Keep the ornament on wax paper till the paint stops dripping. Put the little gold top back on..
Krylon also makes a glitter spray paint that works great on glass, and it does not fall off the object you spray paint. The Christmas red is beautiful
Hi Kelly, you can definitely paint glass. Depending on what look you are going for, Annie Sloan Chalk paint or Fusion Mineral paint stick beautifully to glass.
Here's a bunch:

Hello. I have used Tesrors enamels since the 1970s! They hold up!
Hi Kelly. To create a stained glass look, mix black paint with Elmer's glue. Just remove some of the glue from the bottle and add black paint. It doesn't take a lot of paint. It's nice to have it in the glue bottle because you have more control using the tip. This mixture will become the lines that separates each color. It will be thicker than just paint alone. Create the design you want. I recommend practicing on a piece of cardboard first. Once you have the lines on the ornament, allow them time to dry. Then add the stained glass colors with acrylic paint. Good luck Kelly and Happy Holidays.
I've poured nailpolish inside one and swirled it around and it turned out really good!
Any model paint will work fine. Get online or at hobby or craft store
You can paint them either inside or out! I've received one that had a message written on a small rolled up piece of paper that then unrolled inside the ornament! very clever. You can add confetti or small strands of tinsel too.
