Whip up These Adorable Christmas Trees in Presents Using Wood Scraps!
Desiring a few shelf sitters or something to run a long a window sill, I decided to try something different with scrap wood!
Cutting up a square post and a fence plank, this adorable project came together in a jiffy!
These would be perfect for a Christmas day project or create a winter version so you can leave them up until spring!
Here's what I did...
Any wood plank will do, however I used reclaimed wood fence planks that measured approximately 6" deep.
Using a miter saw, the wood plank was cut at an angle, flipped over, and cut again to create triangles.
For this particular project, I didn't paint the trees, but you can if you wish!
A square post was cut into 'chunk's in various heights to form the tree bases.
Holes were then drilled into the bottom of the trees and bases next joined by small wooden dowels.
The bases were painted in various colors as desired.
To create the ribbon, Grain Sack Stripe stencils were used!
These stencils are offered in 6 different designs and two different lengths to choose from!

The stencil was taped for stability, then positioned over the wood blocks and stenciled across the top and down the sides.
Then the stencil was rotated in the other direction and repeated. Instant present ribbons!
How to stencil:
- load stencil brush with paint
- remove most paint until brush feels dry
- tap paint onto stencil to create effect desired
And here is the completely adorable result! Aren't they the cutest?!
These scrap wood Christmas trees in presents are so fast and fun to make, and of course, totally customizable!
