Okay so this centerpiece can function a few different ways!!!! I've been using it as a candle holder, but it can also fit test tubes that hold stems or a "propagation station"!

Let's talk about materials...

The first step will be to cut your wood! If you don't have a miter saw, you could use a hand saw, a circular saw, or even a jigsaw. Here are the measurements I used...

Obviously these measurements will vary based on your needs.

After your pieces are cut, you'll want to sand them down! I used select pine for mine which means it didn't need a ton of sanding. I did a light sand with 120 and 220 grit sandpaper!

The next step is to determine how many holes you'd like and measure and mark them out! I just had to play around with the numbers until I figured out the best way to space it out.

This is the fun part! In order to get the holes for the candles/test tubes, you'll need a spade bit! This is an attachment for a drill, so if you already have a drill, you'll only need this bit! These bits come in multiple sizes, but I used 1" to fit my candles.

I put an extra piece of scrap wood underneath just to make sure I don't drill through my table icon

The last step is to attach the pieces together! I used my nail gun with 1 1/4" brad nails. In my opinion, you could totally get away with just using wood glue for this! Its not something that goes through must wear and tear.

The last and final step is to paint! This is what I used! I got it from Home Depot, but I've also seen it at Hobby Lobby icon

I've really loved having this addition to my dining table! Its simple, sleek, and multi-functional! I hope you enjoyed this!
